  2. A rainy day can make you feel sad. I think this because the text the second stanza stated "the task was a weary one." Since weary means sad in a way. This shows that a rainy day can make you sad like when the rain was coming the person felt bad.
Another example is in the third stanza when it stated, "My clouded soul grew bright." This proves that in the beginning they actually were sad because of the rain, but when the sun came the person felt ecstatic.
Clearly the poem shows that the rain makes you feel sad. I know this because of how the person is sad in the rain and happy in the sun. Also the beginning showed us that the day was dreary. In conclusion that the poem is showing that the rain is pure with showing sadness.

  3. The general mood in the first 2 stanza's is boring the person telling the story is like dreading the day. It says that a rainy day make's you sad, so the person telling the story is probaly sad. Then it said that the wind came out like an endless sigh of pain so she or he is feeling like the storm is going on forever. That is what the first 2 stanza's mood is.

  4. In the poem The Rainy Morning I think the general mood is, “A rainy day can make you feel sad”. I think this line is the general mood because there are some line’s in the poem that make me think this and here is one piece of evidence that made me think that these match my general mood. “Wept in a silent sorrow.” This made me think that the person was probably thinking about something that’s making him cry because I know that “Wept” means like a sobbing and crying. I also thought of this line because it says sorrow, I know that sorrow means almost like their disappointed about something. This word also means they are maybe sad or stressed out by something, or maybe they lost somebody and they could be living their life in sorrow in other words sadness. Another piece of text evidence is when it says,
“Like an endless sigh of pain, and the leaves fell down in the pathway and withered in the fallen rain.” This piece of evidence shows the reader how everything’s so miserable and how it feels as if everything around him was once filled with life but know when it’s pouring down
rain everything is so miserable and sad. Overall this is why I think that “A rainy day can make you feel sad.” Is the general mood.

  5. The general mood in the first two stanzas is gloomy, because when it says "when you're unhappy it always seems to be raining" it makes you think about when you're unhappy and how that line makes you feel sad. You know when you've had a bad day, its pouring so you have indoor recess, you had a hard time in math? That's what this poem reminds you of. But I also think this poem also makes you more thankful or the sunny, warm days. Overall I think the general mood is gloomy.

  6. The mood in the first two stanzas of "The Rainy Morning" is a rainy day can make you feel sad , because in the text it says "The dawn of the day was dreary." This proves the mood is a rainy day can make you feel sad because this means it was not a nice day. My next piece of text evidence is "Wept in a silent sorrow." This proves the mood for the first two stanzas is a rainy day can make you feel sad because the author is describing a dark sky and rain pouring down. This is why I think the mood for the first two stanzas is a rainy day can make you feel sad.

  7. The Mood of the first 2 stanzas in The Rainy morning is a rainy day can make you feel sad or gloomy. My first piece of evidence is, "Where the sweet sunshine lay dead" this tells me that the day is cloudy and the sunshine is gone. My next piece of evidence is when it says, "And so like child impatient" that tells me that he is sad and impatient. Finally, my final piece of evidence is when it tells the reader, "... I bowed, the splendor of the sun bent over me," I think that because he is now happy that the sun is back which makes the reader know that he was sad by the rain.

  8. The mood of the first two stanzas in The Rainy Morning is a rainy day can make you feel dreary and sad. My first piece of evidence is "And the lowering clouds o'erhead
Wept in a silent sorrow". This tells me that the mood is sad because it says "Wept" which means crying. My next piece of evidence is when it says "and mourned with the instrument." Mourned is a word that is mostly used when someone is sad. My last piece of evidence is that "Where the sweet sunshine lay dead in the rain. This tells me that the writer is sad because there is no more sunshine left.

  9. The mood for the two stanzas in the poem The Rainy Morning is gloomy and lazy. How I know is because in the text it says ~ The dawn of the day was dreary~ and that piece helps me to know that this kid was feeling lazy because the person sees its just yucky out and he or shes thinking hmm im just going to be lazy today because its yucky out. Next, in the text it says this ~ Went in a silent sorrow~ and that supports that this person just doesn't want to do anything and is sad. My last text evidence is this~ I had tried in a brave endeavor~ and this tells me he or she is trying to be happy but cant and think today not the day for them. That is all the text evidence I found in the story The rainy morning and tells how the stories first two stanzas describe the two words lazy and gloomy.

This shows that the mood is gloomy and happy because its saying that dreary and cold and gloomy out .And it is saying that he became very happy . Another reason i think the mood is gloomy and happy is because in the poem it says "wept in a silent sorrow"and "The splendor of the sun bent over me ". This shows that the mood is gloomy and happy because it is saying that it is a very sad and gloomy day and it turns cheerful . The last reason i think the mood is gloomy and happy is because in the text it says " like an endless sigh of pain "and " With a touch so warm and tender".This shows that the mood is gloomy and and happy because it is sad and then it terns happy . to rap i up i think the mood is sad and gloomy and happy.

  11. The mood of the poem "The Rainy Morning" is that a rainy day can make you feel sad. One piece of text evidence is when it says:
"I bowed in a shower of teardrops
    And mourned with the instrument."
The poet said he was mourning, which meant he was sad. Another piece of text evidence is when it says:
"I tried in a brave endeavor
To chord my harp with the sun,
But the strings would slacken ever,
And the task was a weary one:"
This shows the poet was trying to keep in harmony with the sun, but the rain made the task harder and more tiring.
The poet calls the rain "the clouds weeping" and calls the eastward wind "an endless sigh of pain". The pieces of text evidence for this is:
    "And the lowering clouds o'erhead
    Wept in a silent sorrow"
    and
"And a wind came out of the eastward
Like an endless sigh of pain,".
Overall, these are the ways the mood of the poem is conveyed that a rainy day can make you feel sad.

  12. The mood of this poem is that rainy days can make you feel sad. One piece that supports this is, "I bowed,in a shower of tear drops". This shows me that the author was feeling sad because he was crying. Another piece is, "And a wind came out of the eastward like an endless sigh of pain". This shows that that the author is camparing the rainy day to something that is painful so that means that the author could be feeling something painful when it is a rainy day. My last piece of text evidence is,"And so, like a child impatiant And sick of a Discontent" This shows that the author is sick of the rain and doesn't like it. All of this evidence shows that the theme of this poem is that rainy days can make people sad.

  14. The mood of The Rainy Morning's 1st 2 stanzas is sadness. The mood of the poem is sad because it refers to dreariness and pain in almost every lines. Like line #3 “Wept in a silent sorrow.” Wept means weep and weeping is crying and you cry when your sad. Also sorrow means upset so that shows that the mood is sadness. Also like line 3, line #6 which states “Like an endless sigh of pain.” Pain is never good, so this line shows that the stanzas are talking about sadness and pain being endless! That’s very sad. My final piece of proof that the mood is sadness is “sick of discontent.” Discontent is like when you don't get what you think you deserve and causes bad feelings like resentment. This all proves that the mood is sadness.

  16. The statement that describes the first two stanzas is "A raining day can make you feel sad" because you can't play outside. It will be too wet to play on the playground, so it makes you sad. My text evidence is it says "The dawn of the day was dreary, And the lowering clouds o'erhead Wept in a slient sorrow." The clouds are crying and that makes them sad and therefore the rain makes us sad too.

  17. The mood of the first two Stanzas in the poem “The Rainy Morning” is. “A rainy day can make you feel sad.” I know this because in the first paragraph it can show sadness on a rainy day because of the phrase “the sweet sunshine lay dead.” I know this shows sadness in a rainy day because it says the sunshine lay dead. This means the sun isn’t showing and clouds are covering it. Next, in the second paragraph the phrase of “I bowed in a shower of teardrops.” this shows sadness because it says the character was crying. And you normally cry when sad. Overall, the mood of the poem isn’t so happy.

  21. In the poem "The Rainy Morning", the mood was a rainy day can make you feel sad. One reason I think this is because in the text is says "The sweet sunshine lay dead" I think that shows how a rainy day can make you feel sad because the sunshine went away. One reason I think this is because in the text is says "The sweet sunshine lay dead" I think that shows how a rainy day can make you feel sad because the sunshine went away. "Wept in a silent sorrow.” This made me think that the person was probably crying because I know that “Wept” means like a sobbing. I also thought of this line because it says sorrow, I know that sorrow means almost like their disappointed. This could also means they are maybe sad or stressed out.

  24. In the poem, the rainy morning the mood is, rain makes you feel unhappy because it says"to chord my harp with the sun but the strings would slacken ever". That tells me that the harp wouldn't work because it didn't have that bright mood like it did with the sunshine. Then it says" like an endless sigh of pain". That tells me that endless sadness is washing over the person as the rain keeps pouring. And lastly it says "The dawn of the day was dreary". That tells me that this person hates rain when it says dreary. That may mean that the day is dreadful to the person. In conclusion, the rainy morning's mood is rain can make you feel sad.
